The Zodiac Legacy: Convergence by
Stan LeeMy rating:
4 of 5 starsOn a school trip to Hong Kong, Steven Lee is separated from his tour group at a museum. Following strange sounds he finds himself witness to what appears to be some kind of weird ritual. This go awry and he finds himself suddenly infused with the power of the Chinese Zodiac Animal Tiger.
He learns that with there is a convergence of space/time/power the magical powers of the Chinese Zodiac come to Earth and find hosts who were born in the corresponding year. What he also learns is that there is a power hungry man who wants to control all the Zodiac. So Steven teams up with others who have become Zodiac to stop Maxwell from becoming too powerful and dangerous.
This is a fun, middle-grade book. And what's better... legendary Stan Lee was one of the authors. While I cannot see it being translated into film, I could certainly see it being translated into an animated series along the lines of the original Batman the Animated Series.
I do not plan on rushing out to get the next book in the trilogy, I do plan on getting it at some point.
My only real critique of the audiobook version is that the narrator's Irish Accent was way more Australian than Irish and his South African was nonexistent.
