Normally this is not the type of book I gravitate towards. But I've been struggling to find a book that fits a reading challenge category so I went outside my comfort zone. While this book did not work for the category, I am really glad I read it.
Naomi specializes in finding missing children. Specifically those that law enforcement has given up on. She's been hired by a family to help find their daughter, who has been missing for almost 3 years in the heavy wooded mountains of Oregon.
Along the way, she starts to remember things from her childhood. See, Naomi was a lost child herself and has no memories of who she was or what her life was like before she was roughly 9 years old.
I found this book very compelling and Alyssa Bresnahan's reading of it was engaging. I actually fully intend to continue this series when I can.
