2020 Popsugar Reading Challenge: a book with at least a 4 star rating on Goodreads

Blood of Elves by Andrzej Sapkowski

My rating: 4 of 5 stars


The first official novel in the Witcher series (the other two are anthologies leading up to this one). I found myself engrossed and wanting more as the story progressed. Though I found the character of Ciri to be VERY annoying in this book and I wanted very much for someone, anyone, to just give her a good smack and attitude adjustment.

But like the previous books this one has the perfect blend of sword and sorcery, prophecy and magic as well as intrigue and secrecy. I have already asked for the next book from the library and hope it comes in soon.

If you are a high epic fantasy fan, I recommend this book. And I especially recommend the audio as Peter Kenny's reading is marvelous.
