My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3.5 but rounded up
The year is 2172 and the earth has endured severe climate change and nuclear fall out. People and animals undergo cybornetic implants/upgrades.
Nigeria is experiencing civil war again. Children are taken by both sides and trained in the art of war - both conventional combat and the use of armed and amored mechanical war suits. Two girls are raised by one side as sisters, find themselves separated after one battle and each believes the other is dead. Onyii returns to the Biafran rebels seeking revenge for those who killed her sister. Ify is "rescued" by the Nigerians and "returned" to the advanced world of the Capital city.
Both struggle to help their side win the war, but find they no longer can trust what they believe and what is real.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this book. I actually feel kinda eh about it. Oh don't get me wrong, it was good. And I can totally see how and why others are clamoring over it. And I don't know if it's because I listened to it and wonder if I had read it I would have liked it more or less.
I don't think I will be looking to get the sequel but I do think that if I need another book in this genre, I'd look for other books by this author.
