Thoughts on the weekend
Dec. 22nd, 2006 02:03 pmI'm sitting here at work absolutely convinced my brain is leaking out of my head. But that might actually just be the head cold giving me a runny nose.
There is only a handful of people here in the office. As in like 8 of us. The big boss is out for another hour and a half and the only supervisor here is of the same minde the rest of us are ... "why are we here?".
Tonight is the "not-office" party. I'm going to go for a little bit. I am feeling better. NO where near as crappy as I did yesterday. One of the girls here gave me some cold tablets that are working wonderfully. Must go get more Loratadine.
Tomorrow I get my nails done at 10:45 then back home to rest until I have to be at my mother's at 6 for christmas dinner with my aunt and uncle.
Then nothing until Sunday evening for my family's traditional christmas eve dinner.
The actual holiday is very low key this year. Just me, mom and sis. Which is fine for me. Low key is a good thing.
This year for some reason I'm not all that excited about the holidays. This is my favorite time of year but this year I just can't get into the excitement like I usually do.
Maybe it's the lack of cold and snow. There've been green christmases here in Buffalo before but usually they are at least cold. Today was to have a high of 46 and tomorrow in the mid 50's. No snow in the immediate future for us.
I got all my shopping done and all the things made that needed to be made for this weekend. Still have some things to make for 12th night but that's a little while away yet. But I do plan on working on some this weekend.
I do not consider myself a religious person. My family calls themselves Christian but we never went to church except for weddings, funerals and christenings. I'm more of a spiritual person, but this year I've been having very serious thoughts about finding a place of worship and going either sunday night or monday morning. I've learned to not ignore the call when the Divine sends it. There must be a reason I am feeling the pull. I just need to see where I can go to answer.
Anyway, bless to all.
Happy Hannukah
Merry Christmas
Blessed Yule
and Seasons Greetings
