Today was the first day in AGES that I slept in. I woke up briefly at or 8ish, got up , peed and went back to sleep. I woke up for good around 10:15 and didn't get out of bed until 10:40ish.

I got dressed and headed over to the Doma to start a day of working by myself. I grabbed a quick breakfast there and got to work.

The master bathroom looks amazingly different. The walls are painted. I tried for the first time ever in my life doing a painting technique. Actually I combined techniques. I did a base coat of the same blue I used in the spare bedroom (I had enough paint left over to cover the walls in the bath as it's only 5'x5' and most of that is covered in tile anyway.) Then I retrieved the blue paint I had used to paint the kitchen in my apartment, mixed it with glazing compound and sponged it on over the dried base coat. I then ragged off the glaze to soften it. I really like how it turned out. Very rich looking. The ceiling has been painted as well a soft pale greyish color that works well with the blues. Today I bought crown moldings that I will put up as soon as I find out if I need to buy a miter box to cut them down or if there is one in the basement. The molding will be painted and put up then all that the room needs is a good scrub and the window sills stained.

But all the windowsills in the house need to be stained. That will wait though until I get paid next so that I have the fundage to actually get the stain.

I will be taking pictures tomorrow of the swatches of fabrics I got today for curtains for the master bath and may be posting them here to get opinion. I am not sure what direction to take with the curtains that will not look wrong with the new wall treatment.

I also got major headway into the closet in the spare room. OMG... my mother kept bags of clothes from when I was in 9th grade. I felt like I was back in the 80's again. I mean... crop tops with 3/4 length sleeves, pleated acid wash jeans, a baby pink sweater with wite smiley faces all over it. You know, I bet I could sell them on ebay and make a killing with "Bags of Retro 80's clothes". Waiting on a reply call from the Huntress before I do anything with any of the other clothes I found.

I need to post up on freecylce the large bag of baby and crib blankets. I sure as heck don't have a need for them and none of my friends are breeding to give them away there.

Tomorrow I will head back to the Doma and finish in the closet and see if there is time to do the carpet. I have to pick up the family room and vacuum it again. They are bringing back the TV tomorrow after work and I need to a path for them to bring it in and the carpet under that spot vacuumed. I will also need to get all the garbage to the curb this time. We didn't do it last weekend and since then it has warmed up. It's rather stinky in the garage at the moment.

Also need to start thinking on what shade of dark green I want to paint the master bedroom. I'm thinking of really close to what I have now in my bedroom. But I have to see what I can get in the Kilz shades.

Can I just say that I'm digging the Kilz paint? I need the stuff because it's the only stuff that will hold back and hide nicotene stains and keep it from leaking through. It's a bit more pricey than "normal paints" but it's guarenteed one coat if you use one of their preformatted colors. So for what I would pay for two gallons at least of the cheaper stuff, I get done in one. It only took shy of one gallon to do the spare bedroom, half a gallon to do the master bathroom's base coat. Less than a quart to do the master bathroom's ceiling so I should have enough to paint the crown moldings.

I wish I had more money right now. While I was at Home Depot getting the crown molding, I talked with their flooring department and they are having a sale on laminate flooring installations. But it only lasts until the end of April and I know I won't have the money for it before then. Besides I can't put the floor in until I rip the stove out, which I won't do until I actually have a replacement stove and a plumber lined up to run the gas line. I also priced the carpet squares for the master bedroom. the basic beige is running $79/box and I need 7 boxes for the room itself not counting the closets. Though I do have a box from when Sis's room was redone that I could put in the closets. So I'm looking at a good $600 with tax just for the carpet. maybe I need to look into how much it would cost to have a regular carpet installed. Carpetsmart is doing a thing of betwen $499-$899 to have 3 rooms done with pad. I could look to see what constitues a room and maybe redo the living room/dining room and master bedroom. Of course if I do the living room/dining room I will need to redo the stairs and upstairs hall.

You know it seems like a vicious cycle this home improvement stuff. Part of me is beginning to see why Mom never did any of it, just talked about it. But at the same time I'm feeling good about the progress being made.

Now if only I could figure out what to do with the guest bathroom. It's technically the largest bathroom in the house and has get this... harvest gold and alvacaldo green tiles with the gold also being the tub, sink and toilet. I'll see about posting pictures here to see if anyone has suggestions. It is currently wallpapered to tone down the gold, but the wall paper is coming loose and needs to be taken down.

Boogie is home. She took me and the Boo out to dinner. It ws good to see her and have her home. And I don't care what she thinks, I think her hair looks awesome at this length. I only wish mine would look so good if it were that short.

Well, I'm going to go feed the cats, curl up with my wretched romance book and try to finish it and get some sleep so I can get up in the morning and head over and finish my work at the Doma for the weekend.

I could have sworn we had stain for those window sills somewhere, possibly the garage. Of course, I could just be thinking we had it, but you might want to check before buying some.

I left it on your cell yesterday.

Basically I have three bags of girls clothes size 7-14 didnt' know if you were interested for the little one.

I also found the pillow sham to go with the bed spread and curtains you took for her.

Ah. I usually never have phone calls on my cell phone. When I do it's from Anna or Malcolm, so I didn't even check to see if I had any messages.

Ok.. Yes I would love to go thru the clothes with Kate (or bring them here, go thru them and free cycle what we don't want, whichever you prefer). The pillow sham is a yes, too.

Thanks for thinking of us. Sorry for the delay in responding. Time management recently, hasn't been my strong point.
