I'm ready...

for this to all be done and over with.
I have officially hit that point. I know I've been going non-stop since the beginning of February.
I want to be further along on so many fronts right now.
While I'm trying to be practical when it comes to fixing up and cleaning out the house and the goals I set for it, I am more than ready to have the walls painted, the stove replaced, the floors redone, the crap in the dump and myself moved in. I no longer want to be in my apartment.
My goals for 12th night presents have been all shot to hell. Im only done with 1.5 of them. By now I should have been done with almost 3.
I have at least two backlog scrolls due for Pennsic, one of which I've had the assignment for for at least 3 years now. I should at least have one plotted out.
I need to make an appointment to get mine and mom's taxes done.
I need to see about getting my Pennsic reservation in. But I'm sitting here wondering if I should even bother. Should I instead stay home and just work on house/apartment. But I was miserable the year I didn't go to Pennsic.
I"m more than ready for someone else to be the grown up for even a little bit.

Date: 2007-03-27 05:31 pm (UTC)Can't for two reasons...
1. My lease is not up until August. No granted the money I would save by breaking lease and moving into the Doma is more than I would loose by breaking the lease, it hits me deep to break a contract.
2. There is no place right now for any of my stuff. I can't move in until I have places to put all my belongings, which can't happen until I finish cleaning. So I might as well do the repairs as I clean.
I can get away with not doing the family room/kitchen/hall floors until after I move in. It would be a pain to move in furniture then have to move it out to do the floors though. But the master bedroom run needs to be replaced before I move my stuff in. Too much damage to it. Not to mention it was one room that had the most smoking done per square foot and until the rug is gone, I will not have the best of breathing.
The rational side of me knows that I"m being stupid about obsessing about not having gifts/scrolls done. But it's something to focus on other than the house. No granted I could use that energy for productive things like cleaning my apartment, doing laundry, etc.
Oh well

Date: 2007-03-27 05:58 pm (UTC)Take this weekend and do stuff that you want to do. In the long run, 1 weekend won't make a difference in the house.. but it will in your sanity, stress levels and peace of mind. Don't work on any projects this weekend, unless it's comforting to you, as in calms you down, rather then comforts since it's one more item off your to do list.
You are getting help Easter weekend. With any luck, it will be coming up Friday, leaving Sunday afternoon, with us getting lots of stuff done. I'm fairly good at removing wallpaper and I'm extremely stubborn, so some things will get done that weekend. If you put household wipes or similar items in Kate's hands, she will clean for most of the day :)
A weekend off, will let you come back refreshed and hopefully a bit less stressed. If it helps on really big projects, I try to narrow it down further, to weekly goals and try not to look at the "big" picture until you need to for planning or budgetting purposes.
Now, on Pennsic. If you haven't requested the time, do so now. Pennsic is still months away. You have friends who will help you more. Send in your regristration. At the very least you are going (grin) for one week. If there's still a ton to do, before you can move in, a few weeks before pennsic.. take one week and work on the house, take the other week for pennsic or as a mental health week (at pennsic). Staying home and working on the house and missing Pennsic, isn't good.
I think when the weather gets better (like now), you should be getting more help :)
Does that help? Hugs,
