weekend update
May. 7th, 2007 10:23 amIT was a good weekend for me.
Good to see family all together that i haven't seen in the same place in far too long.
Saturday got to sleep in. Wow, what a concept. Dicea and I got up and puttered around for a bit, had happy outside time with Ping and Penelope who took us on a grand adventure exploring the perimeter of the property. Also ended up playing hide and seek with Penelope as we'd be sitting on the porch talking and look up and go "where'd the little girl go" and then have to go find her. Usually she was hiding under a bush right by the porch giggling and saying 'You can't see me".
Eventually we went out and I got an outfit to wear to my sister's graduation next weekend. Did some grocery shopping.
Came home, picked up a bit and started dinner. Of course the family calls to say they are on the way home and will be there in 1.5 hours. We sit down to relax a little (plan was 1/2 hour) before actually starting the cooking process. I ended up dozing and when I got up to start making the fried chicken.. they walked in. So dinner was a bit later than I had planned to serve it. Oh well. Lots of food. Gonna just have to keep practicing that portioning thing.
Then happy pack time before we all tumbled off to bed.
Sunday morning...Breakfast with the family. Saw Boss off for his grand adventure in NYC.
The three of us eventually hit the road. I slept in the back most of the way since I didn't really sleep the night before. House was tooooo quiet.
When we got home I ran to the Doma to take garbage out. Ended up having to mow the lawn again, even though Dicea did it on Thursday. I don't know what the fertilizer that Chemlawn uses is but it makes the lawn grow fast. I also got the stenciling in the kitchen done.
I don't know how much I'll get done this week at the Doma and this weekend I'm off to DC to watch my sister graduate with her Master's Degree. But I hope to get some stuff done.
We shall see.
But for now, I"m home.
