Step two (or is it three) in the great carpet hunt has occurred. Yesterday I went and made the appointment for the room to be officially measured. They are coming sometime Saturday the 9th to measure. The following monday I call Home Depot to make sure they got the measurement and order the carpet. See, in order to get the deal on the installation I have to have it totally paid for by the 13th (so I'm cutting it close). Did learn that with the $99 installation I can't use my 10% off coupon. That's ok, this is a better deal anyway.

Tonight a woman is coming to pick up the Childcraft encyclopedia and the VHS tapes I put up on freecycle.

I left the painters tape at my apartment so I can't do what I had planned on doing tonight, which was to tape in the master bedroom so this SAturday I can start painting right away.

I'll just see about moving the antique dresser and mirror out of the room today and maybe just see about priming the ceiling.

Once the room is painted I can see about yanking the carpet up. It would be great if I can get it up this weekend. Doubt it will happen but one can dream.


I've made friends with a couple of robins at the Doma. Yesterday when I got there they were both waiting in the flowerbed and singing at me to hurry up and get the sprinkler out so that they could have worms for their babies for dinner. They are a rather cute couple and let me get almost right on top of them before they fly away. I have learned that robins are rather territorial and they are constantly chasing off and ganging up on the two starlings that live in the pine tree out front.

After Pennsic I'll think about getting a couple bird feeders. It will keep the cats entertained and I like casually birdwatching. (I'm no Ursela that's for sure).
