Yes... it's time for Pennsic so of course that can only mean one thing...

I GET A CHANGE OF JOB!

I knew this was in the works. Confirmed last weekend by a trusted friend that my position was being discussed.

Today the boss informs me that while he will do my annual review "which is tough because I want to give you above average to get you a good raise, they only have collector and supervisor review forms not admin staff, but I'm working on it", probably starting August 1st I will be moving to the Northtowns office.

This is good in that the Doma is a 6 minute drive from there, or in the time it takes to drive to my current office I could theoretically walk to the other one from home. (Which I might do in good weather). So I will be saving quite a bit on gas.

Tomorrow I apparently will be meeting with the COO and the new head of HR to discuss my new position and job duties.

I guess that's where I will point out that August 1st is when I leave for my vacation that has been approved since February.

My current boss as well as the HR assistant have assured me that I do have a job. Doesn't stop the little panic weasel from going nuts. I lost 2 jobs right around Pennsic. And I made two (now three) job changes right around Pennsic. Of course I'm twitchy.

This just soooooo helps the mood/emotional state. NOT.

I hear ya! My contracts all seem to end right before Pennsic, meaning I'm technically unemployed with nothing firm to come back to. Happily, I always seem to find something new in time, and this time I'm eligible for unemployment (not always as I'm self-employed).
Your boss's words are very promising, so don't worry. And you'll know all for sure shortly. Focus on how cool it will be to be so close to work.

Well, if job change is inevitable around this time, just be happy that you know what it is and it is done.

This way you can focus on your vacation and have a great time!
