weekend update

Didn't get out this weekend to see the puppies. Oh well.
Yesterday was a meeting with the lawyer to sign paperwork on the house. He kept trying to explain to me what all the papers where that I was signing. Despite repeated reminders on my part that I used to work for a real estate lawyer and I dealt with all but one of the forms on a daily basis. What could have been a 5 minute meeting came out to be 25. But we are one step closer to actually owning the house.
Dinner with the girls last night at the Doma. You know, when we cook for ourselves you'd think we never eat. Lots of yummy food. Was night to spend time with them at home.
Today has been an exercise in puppying the backyard. While it would have been infitately more enjoyable to have been able to hire a couple well built man-beasts to tear down and replace the fencing, that was not an option. I took myself off to home depot, discovered they do not sell individual wooden fence planks that are the right size. I got some to patch the holes in the fencing. It looks a little funny because I really should have tried to cut them down on the table saw, but I look at said saw and see visions of me with severed appendages and say "nope". So fencing has been "fixed", I got snow fencing up where I couldn't make the fence lower and around the shed. Also got decorative edging to go under the deck to keep the little guy from crawling under it.
Lesson learned: it's a pain in the ass to nail anything into pressure treated wood.
I'm going to go collapse now and then work up the energy to take a shower
