Prayer of Support

I stand in quiet contemplation and open myself up to You. I ask that You look kindly upon the family of my friend and co-worker as they come together during this trying time.

I ask that should You call their loved one to You in the hours or days or weeks to come, let it be without pain. Let her know that she is surrounded by those who love and care for her and let her transition be easy.

I ask that You give comfort to those who must stay behind and mourn.

I ask You give Your warmth and support to all who need and ask.

I ask that, as Your servant, you give me the strength to be the shoulder to lean on, the voice of calming and support and the vessel of Your love.

Amen.

An example of what all prayers should be...a selfless prayer for comfort to those suffering, a prayer for strength and guidance to be of help to others. I know I should pray more prayers like this. Workin' on it. Thank you and God bless and be with you, your friend, and loved ones.
