bad puppy mommy

Grimm has informed me that I am a bad puppy mommy.

I have a co-worker coming over tomorrow night, so I"m picking up the house this evening. To ensure not stepping on small canine, he is being baracaded into the florida room.

Only... he figured out how to push the wooden board that had been across the doorway so he could come into the rest of the house. This does not make mommy happy.

So board got swapped out with a baby gate that he can't push over.

He's been crying and carrying on for the better part of 40 minutes now. Any time now he's going to work himself into getting sick.

But mommy is not coming to his aid. He has to deal with being on his own in full sight of mommy when she is up and moving about.

oh I know intellectually that it's good for him.

I just had to get a breed that wants to always be around it's human. (he's perfectly content to play by himself so long as I'm in the same room as he is) Between him and the Norwegian Forest Cat (a breed whose nature is to try to break the laws of physics and occupy the same space you are) I'm surpised I haven't killed myself yet tripping over said creatures.

But the wee one is learning that no matter how much he yips and cries like he's in pain I'm not going to come running and let him have his way. Sorry son, but I'm the alpha female of the house.
