Not so sure now

I got an email from the staffing agency I met with today that included the benefits for the job in Lockport that had the really good salary.
There was the standard 90 days before health and dental kick in. That I'm used to and everywhere I've ever worked and applied to that has been the practice. It's the vacation and personal time that I'm concerned with:
"Full time regular employees are eligible for vacation days according to the following schedule after completing one full year of continuous employment:
Length of Service Vacation Allotment
1 Year of service 5 days vacation
2 years of service 5 days vacation
3 years of service 10 days vacation
Full time regular employees are eligible for personal days according to the following schedule after completing three years of continuous employment. Eligibility is determined by the number of completed years of service on Jan. lst.
Length of Service Personal Day Allotment
3 years of service 1 day
5 years of service 2 days
7 years of service 3 days
9 years of service 4 days
10 years of service 5 days
Relco Systems observes the following holidays for office personnel:
New Years Day Thanksgiving Day
Memorial Day Christmas Eve ( 1/2 Day)
July 4th Christmas Day
Labor Day"
I have to agree with Sabriel, whom I consulted about this, that these seem a bit stingy. Have to work there 10 years to have three weeks off total? I would definitely not be able to do any pennsic this year AND would not be able to go spend Thanksgiving with my sister this year and I would have to cut Pennsic short for at least 3 years.
I honestly don't know if the big increase in the salary is worth that. This definitely requires some soul searching if they offer me the position.

Vacation is also one of those things that might be negotiable, especially if you're joining a smaller company.
See if they will allow you to build comp time (so that you work in advance of the time you'll take) so that when you take time off, you've already banked the extra hours. Alternatively, see if you can get an allowance--at my current job, they will let you go "in the hole" up to 24 hours, so that you can take the time when you need it and then bank it back up later.
As a last resort, you could take it without pay. It sucks, but it would allow you to do a full week at Pennsic, at least.
