I recently learned that someone on my Flist passed away the same day as my grandmother. While I did not know her personally she was a fun read.

She was also the one who posted the Prince Caspian trailer months ago and was all excited that it was coming out

Today Boogie and I went and saw a sneak peak.

[livejournal.com profile] byakuganchick I thank you for the notice that it was coming out and I thought of you tonight.

so

GO SEE GO SEE GO SEE!!!

OMG! this movie was like so totally amazing. I liked it much better than the first movie. This one seemed to have had more study into the mechanics of fighting for both human and all the other species involved. They gave thought to how the minotaurs would be used best, actually had the satyrs jumping nimbly on roofs, used the centaurs like they should have been.

there were some things that were not in the book but still worked with the story. Yeah for a brief Tilda cameo that I sure as heck don't remember in the book. They didn't do as much with the whole brothers and sister not believing Lucy about seeing Aslan and then their turns seeing him. But that's ok. You can only fit so much into the time alotments.

I had been nervous at first when I heard that they had gotten Eddie Izzard to do the voice of Reepcheep. But he did wonderfully. Though I always pictured our little Mouse hero on the hairy edge of being a complete manic weasel (even if he is a mouse). I also never pictured the Telmarines as spanish. Makes sense, just never pictured it in my head when I read the books. Though I had to fight not to giggle at points when I expected Caspian to say "Say hello to my little friend" and point to DLF.

All in all a very good movie and worth the price of full evening ticket rates.

Go see.

I can't wait! IIRC, I pictured the Telmarines as vaguely Eastern Mediterranean in origin. It did say somewhere that they had been pirates on Earth.
I enjoyed that bit with the others not believing Lucy, especially when she gets her own back so handily.
