Wonderful weekend

Despite the particularly cruddy beginning of my Friday, the rest of the weekend went very well. I got out of work early which meant that we got on the road early.
I was so happy with how well Grimm behaved at the party. He wasn't too sure on what to do with Jiro. As the puppy seemed to be a circus mirror reflection of Grimm. (Same height and weight, just pudgier and with a funny shaped face). Grimm did keep trying to engage Ping in play and Elsie the cat, however neither are used to the Grimm method of play so it wasn't as successful as I'm sure he wished it. But he got along well with all 4 footeds (snapping once at Penelope when she came close to him while he was eating a treat, thus getting a time out) and managed to charm almost all the two-leggeds as well.
I was very happy with how much work did get accomplished in the work weekend portion of the weekend. I wish I could have actually helped with the demolition phase of it but recognized early that my body was not going to have any of it. But on behalf of my chosen family, thank you to the rest of the chosen family for helping.
Food was wonderful. Much thankfulness directed to the Miss
meirwen and
mister_robinson.
Great conversation all weekend. And a total surprise present from
much_ado and
matthew_g. Picture and story of the gift can be found http://much-ado.livejournal.com/1575409.html Now I have to find a good place to display it.
Come Sunday I was sad to say goodbye but at the same time very ready to be home. The caravan got back into Buffalo and we hooked up with the Boogie and went for Indian before the S&PE had to brave the bridge and customs.
Cats missed me and Grimm. We missed them. There was much snuggling come bed time.
It has been a long time since we had a weekend like that with friends and family and no societal obligations. IT is too bad family is so spread out to not have them more frequently with a rotating venue.
