So Tuesday I walk over to the automotive repair place in the complex my office is in. I am in need of an oil change and inspection. The inspection is due at the end of the month. I also know I need to get the light cover fixed on the right reverse light.

I go in, tell them all this. Emphasizing that I need at least an estimate on the light cover replacement, if not do the repair.

They nod and make an appointment for me to drop the van off this morning so they can do the oil change, inspection and estimate while I'm at work. OK. No big

I go in today, talk to the SAME person I made the appointment with and that's when he says, I need to see the light repair. Because we can't inspect the van if it's broken. I sigh and show him he nods and says that yep, it needs to be fixed in order to pass inspection. While they can do the repair they need to get the part from a dealer. so he will call around and see if he can get the part before the end of the day.

I just looked at him and asked why didn't he ask to see the repair when I made the appointment two days ago so that if he needed to do it for the inspection he would have had two days to find the part. Big blank blink on his end.

So, while I will get the oil changed, who knows if I can get the repair done and the inspection passed today. Lord I hope so. If not, I do have until next week for the inspection.

but this was not how I wanted to start my day.
