Friday:
My trip back down was nice and uneventful. Actually got that tummy twinge of excitement when I could see the campground from I-79. so much I grabbed my camera and took this

Got there and unpacked and car to the parking lot without issue. Managed to find a place to park where I always park - top of the hill right by the giant light. I park there, even if there is stuff closer, every year and thus am able to remember where I parked.

That evening was mostly discussion and preparation for the vigil the next morning. The real shame was that we did have to pull out the Duchezz card in order to get a straight answer at AE Royal about the vigil set up and location. It was so bad prior to the Duchezz card that I had made contingency arrangements to use Killkenny camp for the vigil if we needed to. Luckily everything was able to be resolved.
Sunday:
Vigil. It went really well. The nibbly foods were very yummy. I'm really glad the idea suggestion I made on a whim not only actually happened, but people participated and had fun. See, I am tired of going to vigils and there is nothing for people to do but sit and wait, maybe munch on some food and have no real reason for social interaction while waiting to talk to the person on vigil. So, I said that I thought it would be fun to have sock puppets. And it happened. If you look at my zoomr page (http://upload.zooomr.com/photos/ekat/) you will see pictures of people making their puppets. No boring or stuffy vigils for me, thank you very much. I liked the idea that dicea made for the next family vigil - instead of sock puppets we offer scrapbook page making things for the vigil book.
Gained lots of good advice, and some people attended who I didn't realize really knew who I was or thought that much about me.
My only complaint was that after 2pm it got HOT in the vigil tent when the sun had shifted. But well, vigils are not supposed to be comfortable.
After the vigil we all got back to camp and relaxed. Then about 8pm the party kicked up as folks came by to help us celebrate Morguhn's 20th Knighting Anniversary. I was really happy to see as many people that came by as they did. And every time I looked over, Boss was grinning.
Monday:
Worked Public Safety 8a-8p. Nothing really exciting to report.
Attended a class on the overview of Russian garb. Not as much focus on my time period as I would like, but it helped me with figuring out some of the basic garb that didn't change through the years.
Tuesday:
Attended class on Persian Coats. Picked the brain of a Duchess from Ealdormere about how, after looking at how Persian Coats were made and the diagrams on the Russian Great coats, did the gore system in the 16th century Cossack coats work. The answer, pleating or gathering. This will be interesting to try.
Then went shopping and got the stuff to finish the hat and veil system for my elevation garb. Dicea went and helped

I was very nervous that I would forget my oath. I will post the oath later for all to read. I also discovered that my elevation garb was HOT. Under shirt (seroskha) of cotton. Over shirt (rabakah) of silk. Then the jacket (obhan) of silk lined in linen, full skirt of silk lined in linen and a full silk apron.

Morguhn spoke as my peer.

Folks will not forget my elevation any time soon.
Wednesday:
Got teased because I slept with the Pelican medallion on. Sorry, it's the AEthelmearc ancestral one and I refuse to be the one that looses it. So I kept it on at all times until I got home and was able to put it in my jewelry box.
Attended the second half of the Persian coat class. Now I have an idea of how to make one and have the pattern basics too.
The girls left after I got back and I faced about an hour of feeling all alone until I had to run off to a meeting.
Ran the order meeting for the Fleurs. Went well, considering.
Went Midnight Madness shopping and got gifts for folks.
Thursday:
Morning panic because I could not find my ID wallet with my debit card. Panic was resolved when called Dicea and realized my jeans with wallet ended up going home with her and boogie. This just meant that I could not put myself into debt and get the pretties I wanted for myself. Also meant I could not get the t-shirt I wanted. Mentioned in passing to Jeci and Matt in camp that I would have liked the t-shirt but can live without it.
Worked Public Safety 8a-8p.
Came to camp for lunch and discovered that my camp mates chipped in and they all got me the t-shirt that I had mentioned I would have liked.
Tried to go to the Millrind Meeting (grant level service award). Was 10 minutes late and got called out about 15 minutes into being there. Took care of something for Public Safety and got back in time to talk about a candidate that allowed me to lecture the Millrinds about a topic near and dear to my heart. The topic of being told "Pennsic doesn't count" Yeah, that was special. But funny as I ended up finishing my tirade and then get called back out and could not return to the meeting. Her Highness at least was surprised that Pennsic don't count is a phrase used a lot for service folks.
Thursday evening found us helping Wulf and Heidi tear down and leave before the rains came. also early bed for me.
Friday:
Public Safety 8a-8p. No dispatch for most of the 12 hours until

This day also found us having to finally deal with the teens and the bathhouse issue. After days of posting no personal stuff after 2am in the bathhouse, the coopers had enough and asked us to deal with it. Apparently there had been a party and not cleaned up. This included streamers, confetti, ice cream cake left out, pots of pasta just sitting and all the personal belongings just sitting and left out. Ronin, the deputy I relieved at 8am went and cleaned the way grown ups clean up after kids. anything of value (as deemed valuable by a grown up) was brought to Lost and Found (things such as a laptop, 78 DVDs, etc), but anything not of great value (games, garb, toys) got thrown out. Parents had to come with child to Lost and Found and talk with Sir Edward about the issue before anything could be given back. This will be an issue of great focus over the year so this kind of thing does not have to be dealt with again next year).
After my shift I got back to camp and packed up as much as I could then spent the evening hanging out with Much_ado, Matthew_g, Matt and Jeci. Very very enjoyable. Continued the discussion of "What the hell is wrong with the German people" and did more Kinder Egg toy assembly.
Friday night was COLD!!! Fleece sheets, 3 blankets, a comforter, wool socks, leggings, sweat pants, turtleneck, fleece pullover, AND a coleman space heater and I was still cold. Oh, yeah, I wore also a fleece hat and gloves. Dicea says I need to make a canopy for my bed and figure a wayt o insulate against the air mattress or get a futon mattress. We shall see at least about the canopy.
Saturday:
Packing up and home. Had more room in the car coming home than I thought I was going to have, especially since I ended up bringing home the girls' pavillion when I had not expected to.
Got home at 4:30 and the girls were here with my puppy. Got unloaded, and we went for Pho. Yum.
And yes, nothing feels as good as the first shower after pennsic.
Had much puppy snuggles.
Today was grocery shopping with the girls and having family time. Most enjoyable.
Tomorrow, back to mundania and work. Meh.
