chapter 52 of Tao
Every living thing comes from the mother of us all:
If we can understand the mother, we can understand her children.
And if we know ourselves as her children, we can see the source is her.
And, well, if your body dies, there is nothing to be frightened about.
If you keep your mouth shut and stay inside, then you'll live a long time.
If you blert out what you think to everyone, then you won't last long.
Value littleness. This is wisdom.
To bend like a reed in the wind - that is real strength.
Use your mind, but stay close to the light and it will lengthen its glow right through your life.
Dawn Prayer of the Seneca Iroquois
Oh my creator, you whom we worship and admire, we give thanks to you for this day.
For the beauty which surrounds us, we give thanks.
Above us and below us, before us and behind us and all around us. We are surrounded by thy beauty, which we recognize as a manifestation of thy goodness and mercy unto us all.
We also give thee thanks, oh thou, our creator, for all the mysteries which abound, for all those things which we cannot see and do not understand... and yet in these mysteries you manifest your wisdom and domination over us all.
We give thee thanks, oh my creator, may you ever keep us grateful that we may always walk the beautiful trail.
the plee
Oh mighty sprits, oh great influences, oh powerful elements, oh wise totems, we call to you and ask for help. Look down upon your daughter as she nears the time to walk with those who have gone before, lead her to the peace and joy of your welcoming, aid her children through their pain. Enable us all to know that as we leave one plain, we join another and there happiness shall be known unlike any we have seen with our unworthy eyes and unknowing hearts.
Your guidance and protection is appreciated. When the time comes, accept your child and lead her to Wakan Tanka with our thanks. we pray that when it comes time for us to make the jouney you will be our guides once again.
