Date: 2008-10-31 03:17 am (UTC)That's a tough one to answer. Do I have a "happiest" memory? I am an amateur Stoic, so I have had so many happy moments that do not have greater value than others but are all a part of measuring a good happy life. One of my happiest by typical standards would have been the day I got married. Bad things happened and that happy time was gone. Does that negate that happiness? Only if I let it. That is how things work -- things are good, things are bad, and the world is in balance. It makes life worth living achieving happiness after a fall, although it never feels that way with the floor drops.
I am happy now every day with the necessary component of things not always being so good.
