It started with trying to convince my boss that I really could not take on one more project without getting some help with the other two I had been given.

I finally managed that.

I was snippy and bitchy and irritable all day.

Then I come home and fail to pull into the garage far enough to close the door. And rather than the door hitting the bumper and bouncing back...

I managed to get the manual release to give and closed the door more than it had been. But it's still about a foot up and the garage door will not go any higher.

So my van's stuck in the garage. Which means I am stuck home tomorrow and trying to get the garage door people to come over and fix it at least enough to let me get the van out.

I've already called my supervisor and told him. I will be emailing the boss and supervisor later and sending the pictures so they know I'm not kidding.

Hopefully all I will need to replace is a single door panel and maybe the actual door opener. And this just a few days before I'm supposed to drive to Maryland for Thanksgiving with my sister.

I so don't need this.

May Mr. Garage Door Man be prompt, friendly, competent, speedy, and easy on the eyes.

Well, there will be many good wishes winging your way, so surely things will go well. Or at least better. And yeah, may Mr Repair Dude be a super-hunk. And while we're at it, may he be intelligent, single and attracted to you!

Sorry, Katja. Trick for future: hang a tennis ball on some parachute shock cord from the garage ceiling. It should touch your windshield when you're in far enough. Can't break the windshield, but you have a visual cue
