Homeowner's deductable = $1,000.00

Door repair = $770

Even if I had $500 deductable the guy said he would urge not to claim as that's a small claim (yeah to him maybe) and would be a serious strike on my record for future payouts should something big happen.

Looks like Xmas is going to be even more lean than I had thought.

Wow. I think I got a whole new door and opener with installation for that. Too bad Vern doesn't live closer to you!

yeah this is what happens when your mother gets a "special" through the erie county fair for some high end door at a low price. And it's a 2.5 car wide door.

and yeah... I need to get it repaired for insulation purposes alone.

Second thought - does it have to be repaired or can you wait until you have saved up?

Ouch! for a repair? But if you have to have a new door, I do understand. Mine is one of those off sizes, too. I had to have the railings repaired, and the springs replaced, and that was enough, then. Luckily, Morguhn hired our for a smaller amount of cash than what the company wanted, when I had to replace the opener itself.
My sympathies, really I can feel it with you!

I was going to tell you not to claim it against your insurance because of the later ramifications.

Will the door repair company be willing to accept installments? It's worth asking. They know it's lean times for everyone.

Ok, for $770 they better be replacing the whole door including the automatic door lifter and all the hardware. I live in a pricier place than you and they were quoting me less than that.

Seriously, shop around, that looks like a total hose job
