Boogie and I went to see a sneak preview of Valkyrie.

It is by far one of the best WWII movies I have ever seen. The cast was amazing. The costuming was superb. The music moving. The history - to the best of my knowledge - right on.

Go see this movie when it is released fully.

Just to me a favor, remember that yes, there were attempts on Hitler's life before he killed himself. And if you don't know what's going on... pay attention and maybe read a book. (this being to the folks who sat around us and who were not sleeping).

There was a really fascinating documentary this past year that sillyviking and I saw about this particular plot - figuring how why the bomb didn't work, etc. Cool stuff!

I worked with one of Stauffenberg's(I know I spelled that wrong)decendents/relatives. She was the one that got me interested in this incident 20 years ago.

Andrew Greeley has a wonderful fictional retelling of the Count prior to WWII in one of his "Irish..."stories. Offhand I can't remember which one. I will look it up later.

Thats funny as I went to school with one of the Grandsons. His grandmother came into class to tell us about it and thats why I also became interested in it. Neat.
