bird watch

I've spent a good part of my day, when not otherwise occupied, watching my bird feeders
Today I saw the first goldfinch of the season. Several other varieties of finch and wrens. At least one, if not two red wing blackbirds came for a visit (could have been the same one so I'm not sure), two mourning doves dropped by and there was something that kinda looked like a juvenile grackle but I didn't see it with other birds and it seems a bit early for them to be by themselves yet. Not to mention the requisite grackles and starlings.
But today I got the happy birding moment. I got a male and female cardinal come to the feeders.
I like cardinals and I even got special food designed to attract them. And lo - they arrived.
I need to see about a new suet thing to see if I can bring the downy woodpeckers back
