IF you are a film crew attached to a show that investigates strange and unusual occurrences around the world...
Wouldn't it behoove you to find out if there are strange and unusual but explainable animals in the forest you are going to so that when you hear rustling in the trees and "howls and screams" you don't first think "OMG it's a supernatural beastie in the mountains of Peru" but instead go "I'm in the forests of Peru. I betcha that the howling and rustling might be a howler monkey".
That way you don't look like a dork on national TV when you investigate and find a monkey yelling at you to get off his lawn?
Just saying.
