One of the people on my friends list made the Telephone Yip-Yips from Sesame Street!

Check it out! http://tusnilda.livejournal.com/15284.html

I am so going to have to make one now that Cthullu is done.

Thanks! So glad you liked them. They crack me up - just to look at them. I spent Christmas with nearby friends...because I didn't want to make the drive to my folks (Mpls. suburb)...and we got about 18 inches at least! So, I was crocheting up a storm. These little guys enjoyed watching movies with us! :-D

Totally easy. I've got two completed and 5 awaiting eyeballs and two more in the larval stage.

I think these are going to be my small 12th night tokens.

If you want a real challenge, I made one out of the cotton crochet thread used to make doilies. That was fun. I just crocheted little balls for the eyes there.

Excellent!! Hope you post pix when you can. I'm so glad you mention cotton crochet thread - I was wondering if that was another option. How tiny did yours come out? I was thinking I'd like one small enough to wear as a pin/pendant. What have you found for eyes for the regular sized ones? The best I found were some dome shaped 'pearl' buttons with a flat back and an eye loop. I used a black sharpie to draw the pupil on. Also used 'pearl' or white beads with a black sequin and a head pin...oops...rambling! :-)

here's a link to my ravelry page that has pictures of the two that are done. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/baronessekat/yip-yip-alien

You can see in the one of the crochet thread how big it is in comparison to a quarter.

The yarn one is bigger than the pattern says because I used two threads together as requested by the one who I made it for.

Large one I used washers and wrapped it with yarn. for the regular sized ones I was going to try the technique they suggested.
