Dear Wrigley's Chewing Gum
Jun. 23rd, 2010 03:23 pmFor years, my favorite kind of chewing gum was your Doublemint brand. It was one of the few that I could actually chew.
But now.. WTF... sneaking in Asparthame into the ingredient list? And because use still use regular sugar for the main sweetener, you don't say you are "sugar free" then giving us who can't have asparthame a clue that things have changed. I stopped reading your ingredient list because you had been consistant for YEARS, if not decades
The headache and the tingling of my lips and tongue were a nice way to bring a small panic to my ordinarily "enjoyable" Wednesday.
Thank you for taking one more thing away from me.
Sincerely,
Me.

Date: 2010-06-23 07:35 pm (UTC)I'm just curioius to see if I get a similar form letter back from them to the one that Dannon Yogurt sent me when I complained about them adding asparthame into their Lite and Fit (which had been one of the few Lite yogurts made with only splenda). The response I got from Dannon was a "thank you for being a customer and we know you will like our new improved flavor" when it was the new improved part I was complaining about.

Date: 2010-06-24 03:42 am (UTC)For a long time my favorite cereal was Cranberry Almond Crunch. And then one day my tongue started to itch...and I looked on the box and they had added walnuts to the ingredients - without changing the name of the cereal. I did contact the company - and make a complaint. I don't remember if it was a letter or a phone call. I stopped buying the cereal but started checking the list of ingredients and at some point they did remove the walnuts.
So - your comments should be of value! I'm glad you contacted them. And thank you for sharing.
