It would be nice to be able to start a holiday call with my Grandfather with something other than a lecture on how I never call him OR return his calls.

I don't return the calls because he never calls me.

I rarely call beyond holidays and his birthday because I really don't need to be lectured like a 7 year old on how I don't call. If I call more than that I get interrogated on my love life, my work life, my spiritual life OR my political life.

Wonder why I don't call more.

In my family we have an expression, "What, are all your fingers broken?"

We use it like this.

"You never call me."

"What, are all your fingers broken?"

"oh"
