I'm not the most religious person. I don't generally hold to any actual religion. Instead of religious I tend to think of myself as spiritual.
But that being said, every now and then I come across something that moves me deep inside. I find that spiritual connection. It may be a picture, a person, thing, event or series of words.
While watching the deleted scenes from "Serenity" and came across a prayer that Shepard Book says for River's victims. So I want to share it with you. Cut for those who do not care.
Lord, I am walking your way. Let me in, for my feet are sore. My clothes are ragged. Look in my eyes Lord, and my sins will play out on them like on the screen. Read them all. Forgive what you can and send me on my path. I will walk on until you bid me rest.

Date: 2005-12-31 09:49 am (UTC)Its kind of an open ended prayer. "Forgive what you can and if you can't, give them rest eventually." Being a spiritual/faithful person, myself, I tend to like to think Lord/God/The Force/The Great Spirit/The Goddess (whatever you want to call the supreme head honcho) gives us a last chance to walk towards him/her/it. Just sort of a nice thought that makes me smile at night. :)

And my voice be still
As it was before
I will speak no more
I shall abide until
I am spoken for
If it be your will
I find myself sing this in my head alot. It's viscerally....something.
