"Why do you need a pre-employment physical for a sedentary administrative office job?"

1. Secretary does not mean sedentary. (I support two VPs who are on opposite side of the manufacturing plant I work in. I am getting close to my 10,000 steps in before lunch every day and my lunch is at 11:30".
2. I work in the R&D department of a company who makes inks and toners. I am around chemicals all day and it's good to have a baseline on record.

and the most important reason of all
3.THEY SAID I HAD TO GET ONE TO BECOME A PERMANENT EMPLOYEE.

As someone who occasionally gets stuck dealing with chemicals in an uncontrolled manner, I highly approve your getting a physical. The baseline is important, and if you get exposed to something akin to "Methyl-Ethyl-RotsYourTitsOff," or the like, such as "TrimethylOvaryEjector", they'll know what your body was like BEFORE you were exposed.

At the very least, it gives them somewhere to go from when awarding damages if your ovaries suddenly explode out of your body. If your ovaries have already exited the premises, it means that you're less likely to be injured.

I keep running into Methyl-TriEthyl-RotsYerBallzoff.
