There is someone on the Pennsic meal plan I am on that has this as her do not eat list:

http://www.ibsdiets.org/fodmap-diet/fodmap-food-list/

So much for doing the hoppin' john dish I was going to make. Or the sausage and black eyed pea soup. I did chicken tortilla soup two years ago, and I guess I could do that again. Was hoping to do something different though.

I"m really at a loss for what I can make that she can eat that I can either make ahead of time and freeze or do there on a camp stove, that isn't also a repeat of what others have announced that they are making.

Time to go digging. Though if anyone here has any suggestions I'm all ears.

I would think that you can make things, like the "Hoppin' John" and the soup, but have other things available for her. Most people with those types of food issues have learned how to eat around things.

Clearly label things with Onions/Garlic/shallots/leeks, gluten ...

I am finding the list rather strange as it says no to "Processed meats" and yet allows "Lunch meats" that are considered "Processed meats" by most other standards.

What about a squash/pumpkin soup?

Let me know how this goes.

That is similar to the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. Some big difference but still very close.
Im a bit of a jerk and think if someone has serious food avoidance requirements or allergies they should not expect to be in a communal food plan.

But then again, I avoid imposing ridiculous restrictions on others. Cant expect others to do that.

I agree. Her no list has grown each year. Originally it was just no onion or garlic with limited wheat products. Now it's an entire website page.

Since I'm making curried chicken, I can make some plain for her and some plain rice. But geeze.... if you've got that much you can't eat... perhaps you should opt out of the meal plan and just take care of yourself.

I am glad there are people like you and my other friends who will do what they can to include those with restrictions. And yes I know you Grok this.

Looking at the veggies that are allowed I'd think some kind of stir-fry?

Sadly, my deathly bad allergy is Soy so no stir fry.

I ended up talking to her and I'm going to make curried chicken and rice and make up a small bit of plain chicken for her
