not worth it
Feb. 19th, 2016 01:23 pmI'm watching my FB feed explode with, mostly fighters, who have posted they are sick and regardless of how they feel, they are going to the huge fighting muster this weekend or the other Royal progress event.
When told to stay home so they don't become Patient Zero, they say "well, I need to go because of the Crown Requirement"
No tournament is worth getting 300+ sick because you need to meet the quota to enter crown tournament this spring. And I'm saying that as one who's potentially being fought for by someone who is struggling to meet quota and waffling about going to one of the events.
There is always the Fall. There will be other tournaments. And you know... maybe missing the quota will get you to attend events after Coronation anyway just to pad your bank in case the next set institutes a minimum attendance requirement as well.
Just saying.

Date: 2016-02-22 03:26 pm (UTC)(Yes, I get there are other reasons to fight in Crown besides the desire or expectation to be Royalty. I actually do support some of those reasons. But I felt like the question needed to be asked.)

Date: 2016-02-22 03:56 pm (UTC)1 fighter got married and bought a house this past year. that took a bit of time and "play money" as he put it. But now that things have settled they are ready to return full force.
My champion was another that was building up his home business and was dealing with child custody that meant travelling to events had to be fairly local. He and I have spoken and know about the time and travel requirements should he win and he too is ready to move forward. (If he was not, I would not have agreed to let him fight for me). My champion only needs two more events for the minimum requirement.
But I do agree with you in the overall sentiment and often think that the attendance requirement should be put back across the board but that's another can of worms.
