I've been sick. I know it's a cold. I went to an event and was trapped all day in a small room with someone who sounded like death warmed over. Not surprised I came home and developed the crud.

Anyway, yesterday I realized my inhaler was dead and I needed to refill it. Called, told they had to get a prescription renewal and the'd contact my doctor. Doc's office called and said that I was overdue for my wellness check so I needed to come in before they'd renew.

So I went in today. Yes it's been over a year since I saw her. I own that. But I went in with a list of things I had noticed over the time since seeing her - pervasive low level exhaustion that is only getting worse. the growing depression that is only feeding the exhaustion. the rise in headaches and the accompanying tinnitus. The one thing I like about my doctor is that she listens. And her first words are never "you need to lose weight". She agreed that the depression could be a couple things - one of which is low levels of Vitamin D and B-12 (which I said I suspected) and yes, increased exhaustion is a symptom of depression - and the exhaustion does feed into the depression in a vicious cycle. So she gave me a script to get back on Zoloft (I was on it 12 years ago when mom died) and we're doing blood work to find out my D and B-12 levels to get me back up there.

She wants me to track the headaches better and start a food log to see if they are food related or weather related and to note when there is the ringing in my ears with a headache and not.

But all in all, my blood pressure is perfect, my lungs sound good for my level of asthma, no change in the sounds of my heart. And the crud- is just a cold.

So I will make a note to call next week to talk to her about my blood work results and we go from there.
