Strong 4.5 stars.

I received this ARC in a Goodreads giveaway and dove in hoping that it would fit a reading challenge category. I don't think it would work for the category I was hoping it would, but that does not mean anything for the book itself.

I was moved, often, by the story, the pacing and the way the book flipped time frames each chapter.

12 year old Edward and his family were moving from New York to LA so his mother could better further her career as a screenwriter. The plane they were on crashed and Edward was the only survivor. He ends up in the custody of his mother's sister and her husband and struggles to deal with survivor's guilt and find a way to piece his life back together. His new best friend Shay, the girl who lives next to his Aunt and Uncle is instrumental in this.

The book itself flips each chapter between Edward after the crash and to the plane ride itself, up to the crash.

I am very glad I read it, more so glad that I managed to finish it BEFORE I board a plan in 2.5 weeks.
