In a world with three suns, true night only falls once ever 2.5 years or so. The main religion praises the god of the light, and vilifies the goddess of the dark. When she was 10 years old Mia's father was branded a traitor against the government and hung as such. Her mother and baby brother were taken to prison and she was ordered to be executed. She escaped and swore revenge against the man who took her father's place on the Senate and ordered the end of her Familia.

Mia apprentices under a master assassin and then gains entrance to learn the deadly skills in the Red Church - the forbidden church of the Goddess of the Dark - with hopes of passing the trials to become a Blade of the Red Church and being able to exact the revenge she dreams of.

This book was mentioned on a Facebook reading group and the description sounded interesting. I was instantly enthralled from the first word. I burned through this 20+ hour audiobook in 3 days. I think what made this book even more enjoyable was the reading by Holter Graham (I will very much look for other books he's read). If you like fantasy and mystery I would highly recommend this book.
