Last week I started the job hunting as I figured that while I was getting severance i should start looking given the current environment. So I registered with a placement agency, sent them my resume and moved on.
The next day they called, did a phone interview and sent me a job description that was available for an Admin Assistant with a CPA firm. I figured what the hell.
Today (5 days after saying "what the hell", I had a Zoom interview with three people. Took over an hour and at the end they asked for my references.. After that the placement agency called me to see what I thought and said that the CPA firm seemed interested and asked my compensation requirements.
Shortly after that I got an email from the CPA firm asking for a masked and social distant in-person interview on Thursday. I agreed.
I'm still a little iffy but some things they said pinged with me. Small team focus, family atmosphere... they allow their employees to bring their well-behaved dogs into the office. If they are willing to meet my requirements for compensation are negotiable about vacation time next July/August and I can get along with those I meet face to face... we shall see.

Date: 2020-08-03 11:18 pm (UTC)Regarding vacation time, I've always gone into negotiations for both contract and salaried positions with the hardline of "This vacation time is immutable for me as it is tied to a very large event schedule". So unless they tie there's to some kind of office shutown or seniority ladder (which doesn't seem as likely with a "family atmosphere", but you'll have time to find out in the next interview.
So proud! Go you!
