My rating: 4 of 5 stars
17 year old Holly Chase is a stuck-up, self-centered socialite who doesn't give one flying fig about anyone but herself and her standing.
On Christmas Eve she wakes up to find her dead stepmother hovering over her warning her of three spirits that will come to help her. Yes THOSE spirits. But Holly doesn't believe one moment of it and wakes thinking that she just had one really messed up dream.
Then a few months later, she is hit by a car as she comes from a yoga class and wakes up to discover that she died and, rather than moving on, she has been selected to be the next Ghost of Christmas Past. It is now her job to help reform Scrooges.
But what is she to do when one of the Scrooges she's assigned to help is another 17 year old who causes her to re-evaluate the life she had and didn't have?
++++
I was surprised that I enjoyed this book as much as I did. Since in general, whiny, emo, entitled teens in books just annoy the ever living daylights out of me. But the character growth arc in this book was good and the reading by Erin Spencer was quite enjoyable.
