A Glimpse into my mind

For those who do not follow me on FB as well...

I did it. Last night I went to practice, got suited up and actually fenced for the first time in a decade.

Caleb was great with working with me on re-establishing things I know. He didn't try to teach me, just work slowly to bring back the muscle memory.

I need to try to work time into my day (each day) to work on footwork and tip control. AND must remember that when top half of body moves, feet move too. There is a difference between a lunge and toppling forward. Srsly.

I now really have incentive to get my armor made. I have totally forgotten how damn hot a ghost jacket gets. Maybe Sunday I will finally be able to get the fabric cut. Not sure about the sewing part but cut out is a good first step to achieving armor.

All in all, I'm please with my not totally embarassing return. I still have a long way to go to get back to where I was, but I will get there.

I pulled my fencing equipment out of the attic.

Actual weapons and mask look good. But no way the armor is going to work. Thanks to my asthma, my ribs have expanded just enough that the jacket no longer fits.

Looks like an excuse to make another great coat.

Just need to find out the rules of the list for what is the basic armor requirements
