November 2021 Glad Game

Work: still employed. I have a new title. More responsibility. Still no word on salary increase. Remains to be see what comes of that “promise”.

Whiteboard goals: I crossed off two things. (one because the missing item I was to replace was found)

Standing Monthly goals: man did I blow it. Did not hit water goals at all, did no purposeful exercise. But read for at least 20 minutes 16 times over the month.

Health: Gained 2 lbs over Thanksgiving. But down .5 for the year. I gained .5 inches this month but still down 6.5 for the year

I finished 4 books during the month – two audio and two physical books. Completed the PopSugar 2021 Reading Challenge.

Creativity: I did a 6 messy art projects. And I got 1 scroll done. Continue to do the daily Photo challenge.

Kitten: She’s still apprehensive about being touched, but she’s been spending more time near me and being in more of the living areas of the house.

Social: traveled for the first time in two years and went to see my sister for Thanksgiving. While in Maryland I got to see and spend time with a dear SCA friend and his daughter. Continue to have Friday Family Zoom night.
Took Grimmy and we went and saw Santa. Got his photo taken and his Holiday cards made up.

October 2021 Glad Game

Work: still employed. I’ve been told I’m getting a promotion soon. Told there will be more money. Believe it when I see it. I had a job interview for a Not for Profit. Not sure how I feel about it. Told it will be at least another week before I hear anything.

Whiteboard goals: I crossed off two things.

Standing Monthly goals: man did I blow it. Did not hit water goals at all, did no purposeful exercise and only read for 20 minutes 3 times over the month.

Health: Lost .25 lbs this month (down 2.5 lbs for the year), lost a total of 1.25 inches overall (down 6.75 for the year). I got my COVID booster at the end of the month. Shortly after I started having a tightness in my chest – not full asthma type, no pain, just tightness. After a friend ended up having emergency heart surgery, I took that as a sign to call my Primary. So far EKG, Pulse Ox, blood pressure and bloodwork normal (though elevated signs of histamine activity so might be allergy). Waiting on the Echo results and I still need to get a chest x-ray.

I finished 4 books during the month – all audiobooks. Total books finished YTD: 66.

Creativity: I did a 5 messy art projects. Finished an embroidery project for Kingdom gift exchange. And I got 1 scroll done.

SCA: Attended 1 in person event where I had a dear friend fight for me in crown. Not sure when the next event I attend will be.

Kitten: Charlie has been spayed and I have seen an increase in her curiosity of environment. She’s still apprehensive about being touched, but she’s been spending more time near me and being in more of the living areas of the house.

I got both of this year’s Ashley Advent Boxes wrapped. One has been sent, next one goes out next paycheck. Also got this year’s Hanukah box out as well.

Social: went out for lunch with chosen family. Continue to have Friday Family Zoom night.

I again do not feel like I have done much, but sometimes just getting up and leaving the house, even when the brain weasels tell you not to is the biggest accomplishment one can have for the month.

September 2021 Glad Game

Work: still employed. They hired a new office girl. She quit after one week.

Whiteboard goals: I crossed off two things.

Standing Monthly goals: I only reached water goal 3 day. I drank water every day, just did not get my goal of at least 64 ounces. Only 1 day of purposeful exercise, but I will not beat myself up about it. New month, fresh start. I did manage to get myself to physically read at least 20 minutes for 3 days.

Health: Gained 3 lbs this month (down 2.25 lbs for the year), gained back a total of 2 inches overall (down 5.5 for the year).

I finish 4 books during the month – all audiobooks. Total books finished YTD: 62.

Creativity: I did a messy art project. Been working on an embroidery project for another SCA gift exchange. And I got 2 scroll done.

SCA: Attended 2 in person events and have agreed to have a dear friend fight for me in upcoming crown

Kitten: Charlie is growing big and full of energy. Her spaying has been scheduled. She is also getting more and more brave and curious about exploring the house.

I again do not feel like I have done much, but sometimes just getting up and leaving the house, even when the brain weasels tell you not to is the biggest accomplishment one can have for the month.

August 2021 Glad Game

Work: still employed. Another office girl quit so I’ve been able to keep busy. Increase in salary did kick in.

Whiteboard goals: I only crossed one thing off my whiteboard of goals. But I am OK with that as I did make headway on another one

Standing Monthly goals: I only reached water goal 1 day. I drank water every day, just did not get my goal of at least 64 ounces. Absolutely no purposeful exercise, but I will not beat myself up about it. New month, fresh start. I did manage to get myself to physically read at least 20 minutes for 13 days. That’s up from last week.

Health: Lost .75 lbs this month (down 5.25 lbs for the year), lost a total of 2.25 inches overall (down 7.25 for the year). I only forgot to take my bedtime meds twice all month.

I finish 7 books during the month. Total books finished YTD: 58.

Creativity: I did a messy art project. Been working on an embroidery project for another SCA gift exchange. And I got a scroll done. With how off and on my tremor is, it was happy making to be able to do it.

Kitten: Charlie is growing big and full of energy. She is proving to be wicked smart and good at problem solving. She is starting to also instigate play with the older cats – especially Puck and Lily Rose, and no toy mousie is safe near her.

July 2021 Glad Game

Every year there is one month where it doesn’t feel like I didn’t do much of anything. July is that month for me in 2021. But I will attempt to breakdown things and find the good.

Work: still employed. One of the other girls gave her notice and left. Boss informed me that I will at least temporarily be taking on some of her duties. But promised an increase in salary. We shall see. I did accept an interview from a headhunter and did both a phone and in person. I didn’t get that “zing” but it is what it is. Will see what comes of it.

Whiteboard goals; I only crossed one thing off my whiteboard of goals. I embroidered 4 napkins for an interkingdom gift exchange. Those got mailed out and have started work on the project for the in -kingdom exchange.

Standing Monthly goals: this is where I fell down. I only reached water goal 4 days, only 2 days of purposeful exercise and only 3 days of physical reading. The reading was because I focused on working on my gift exchange projects.

Health: again, fell down here as well. I gained .7 lbs this month (but still down 4.5 lbs for the year), gained a total of 2.17 inches overall (but still down 4.75 for the year). So while a step back, it’s not a defeat. Just a sign it’s time to rally the troops and recommit.

I did however finish 7 books during the month. 6 of which were audiobooks that I listened to while embroidering. Total books finished YTD: 51. Puts me on track to keep to personal goal of 100 for the year.

Anti-hermit work: a dear friend from the SCA was in town and we visited, went to Niagara Falls AND went to eat in a restaurant. I also was brave and went out to a real theater to see a movie.

Continued with my photo a day challenge. One of my photos was picked as a top photo of the day on the FB group page that sponsors the challenges. I am looking forward to August’s challenge as the theme is “a gratitude a day”

Kitten: Charlie is growing big and full of energy. We got vet confirmation that Charlie is a girl. It has been fun watching her grow and learn. I can see behaviors and pinpoint which sibling he is learning I from. Play is definitely Puck learned. Nap space choosing is from Nimbus. Purring and hiding and lounging is all Lily Rose. I have not been able yet to pick up any Ozy learned traits but I’m sure that will happen. She is certainly showing signs of being highly intelligent and problem solving. We’ve also been working on snuggling and petting and accepting human touch. She still runs from me, but when I do catch her and have “enforced snuggle time” she quickly melts into the lovings and purrs up a storm. Charlie’s sibling, now named Panther, has gone to a coworker’s home and is starting to settle in (though apparently doesn’t like anyone but my coworker’s wife).

June both dragged and flew by. I don't know how but it did.

But here's the review:

Work:
still employed. Took on a bit of more stuff to do, but still bored out of my mind. But it's a paycheck.

Got three things crossed off the white board things to do list.

Middle of the month I participated in the community garage sale. Made more than I expected (especially considering I priced everything as "make me an offer" Everything that did not sell has gone to charity or to the curb. I'm amazed at the space now in the basement and some in the garage. Totally worth the work to set up and tear down by myself,

Planner habit tracking:
Drink at least 64 oz of water a day: 13 days
Exercise daily: 9 days (working on improving that)
Read at least 20 minutes a day: 17 days

Art: Only made one piece of art. Just wasn't feeling it this month

Books: finished 6 books this month

Health:
Lost 4.7 pounds for the month (5.2 for the year)
Lost 1.13 inches over all for the month (7.38 for the year)

Misc.:
The baby chickadees grew and flew
Kittens under my deck. Have managed to catch two - one has already been promised to a friend. The other needs to get fixed and either fostered or released. His attitude is such that I cannot keep him. I have reached out to a couple rescue groups asking for help.

I reached level 48 Human at the end of the month. Got to spend part of my birthday with J&P. they came over and he helped me replace the faucet in my kitchen. We went out for lunch at Panera's - the first time I've been to a sit down restaurant in over a year and a half. J then went with me to help pick out a new TV for the family room as the old one conveniently died that day.

Finally, I managed to book my flights for Thanksgiving. I was watching flights for my boss to get tickets for one of his business trips and figured I might as well check for me as well and found flights cheap. It will be a test of my anxiety to fly post-vaccine but I miss traveling so we shall see how I do.

Honestly May felt kinda like a dud for me with accomplishments. Returning to Hell Job just wore me out - even though bossman has been better since I came back. But in reflection I did accomplish some things.

Still earning a regular paycheck.

Crossed one thing off my white board list - made a new fuzzy hoodie.

Finished 5 books

Made 1 piece of messy art

For my standard "planner monthly goals":
* met water goal for 9 days (I need to do better)
* absolutely NO exercise goals met.
* read physical/ebooks for at least 20 minutes a day for 19 days.

Health wise: Gained 4 lbs. this month (lost .5 YTD), but somehow lost 3.25" for the month (-6.25" YTD)

Got to spend the last week and a half of the month having quality hanging time with my sister. We've been going through all the crap at the Doma from departed family and picking out things to put out in the neighborhood garage sale in June. At the very least it gets crap out of the house and hopefully gets a bit of money too.

Memorial Day hosted chosen family for face to face hang out time in the front yard. It was glorious to get vaccinated hugs from loved ones.

And..

watching chickadee babies go from "Mom and Dad build a nest" to "any day they are going to leave and be all grown up". It has been so fun watching them daily and sharing "Nest Watch" with my facebook friends.

Got two things on the white board “like to do” list done. Put together a new office chair and sewed a southwest print wrap/shrug

Health:
• Lost 1.9 lbs./month (lost 3.7 lbs./ytd) (technically more than that, but I gained like 5 then lost it before the end of the month.
• Lost .25 inches overall/month (lost 3/ytd)
• Out of 30 days I achieved:
o Hitting water goal (64-112 oz.) 13 days
o Hitting walking goal (8,000+ steps) 6 days
o Hitting reading goal (20 minutes of actual reading) 11 days

I made 17 messy art pieces – sold several

I finished 6 books

By mid-April I became as immune to COVID-19 as I’m going to get.

I got Puck a new fish tank and populated it with 5 little golden guppies. He spends happy time watching the fishies, which I find so cute.

Went to very part time at job as I started a new full time one. I got to spend a month working from home, getting Grimmy snuggles throughout the day and learned new things. Sadly, that job did not pan out and I had to say good-bye to it on the last day of the month. But the upshot to having remained part time at the other job was that through some negotiating, I was able to call that job and re-secured full-time position there so there will be no interruption in full time employment.

I learned things about myself, my needs and what I need to do to make myself content (even if I cannot currently do happy – I will accept content).

Nothing was crossed off my white board goals. But I’m OK with that. They are mostly long term or “I’d like to get this done” things and they are on the board so I remember.

Health:
• Lost 2.75 lbs./month (lost 1.75 lbs./ytd)
• Gained .75”/month (lost 2.75”/ytd)
• Out of 31 days I achieved:
o Hitting water goal (64-112 oz.) 12 days
o Hitting walking goal (8,000+ steps) 8 days
o Hitting reading goal (20 minutes of actual reading) 24 days

I made 5 messy art pieces

I finished 9 books

I got both vaccine shots and will be “fully immunized” mid-April

Received and accepted a job offer for a position with a new company. More money, better hours, work from home for the time being, and they seem genuinely happy for me to be joining the team starting the first Monday of April.

Good things for February:

I read 8 books

I only made 3 messy arts

Water goal met: 14 out of 28 days

Reading goal met: 21 out of 28 days

Exercise goal met: 7 out of 28 days (with three days shoveling)

I'm still employed (though I still hate it) and am still actively looking

I finished a capelet and mittens for a SCA gift exchange

I got the overhead lights swapped out in the kitchen with new LED lights. OMG soooooo bright.

Health: I gained .75 lbs for the month (1 for the year) but I lost an inch overall (3.5 lost for the year)

and the ultimate happy/glad/good thing for the month of February:

LILY ROSE WAS PRONOUNCED CURED

Since I got bad about posting daily or weekly about what good happened in my life, I'm going to try to do monthly for 2021. Let's see how it goes

* still employed. Yay? I fully admit that I am not happy there. But it's a paycheck. I've had a few interviews in the month of January, so we shall see.

* I read/listened to 10 books.

* I made 10 pieces of messy art and sold 5!

* I made progress in redecorating/reorganizing the kitchen - also made steps to begin the process of replacing the old overhead lights with newer LED strip lights.

* I may have gained 1/4 of a pound in January but I lost 2.25 inches.
