tomorrow they die
Jun. 10th, 2007 04:43 pmSo, yet again I was left waiting for the bozo from Measure Corp to show up today and measure the room.
I had told him flat out yesterday if he did not show up by 2pm today I was taking my business elsewhere. He said he put me down for 1:30 and would call on his way.
Three guesses.
At 2:05pm I walked out the door with Dicea in tow and we headed to CarpetSmart.
I walked in, told them I was tired of being dicked around by Home Depot's subcontractors. the smiled and said they hear that at least 5 times a week.
I said I have X amount budgeted. I need Y and I need it by the end of the month.
The guy showed me what he could give me I said I could work with it and he proceeded to finangle numbers (basically he gave me it tax free) and I got it for $10 more than what I was going to get from HD. It's not as good a quality with a less thick pad but They promise it in by my birthday.
Tomorrow I go to HD and tell the nice sales associate that I am canceling my order, I want a refund of the measurement fee I have already paid and I want the addresses of both regional and corporate offices of HD to complain about their subcontractor. And because of this subcontractor I will be taking all flooring needs to another company (and since all but about 600 square feet of the 2,000 square foot house needs to be replaced we are talking some big money that they are losing) all because of the bozo at Measure Corp who couldn't be bothered to pick up a f'ing phone and call me.
I do not hold HD any ill will. Like I have said, when ever I have gone in there and had to talk to a sales associate for or about something they have been very good and nice to me and helped me out immensely. I will continue to go to HD for things that I need that I can walk in, buy and walk out with and install/use myself. I will not be going to them anymore for anything that requires professional installation.
But I am back at the apartment now. Gonna relax for a little bit and return to the packing process.
