better

Two days of high power antibiotics and lots of sleep have me feeling better. I'm still taking it easy but I do feel better.

During a burst of energy I got the tubs up from the basement that have the tree in it and I started hanging some strings of lights.

Before I actually put up the tree I need to get the lights up in the windows and put plastic up over the windows.

Slowly and surely the stuff will get put out.

Christmas Tree thoughts

as I'm working on putting up the Ancient Christmas Tree (it's at least as old as I am), I got to thinking back to my childhood.

When he was able to, Dad always put the tree up then strung the lights on it. After he was done, my sister and I would come along and put the ornaments on. Mom or Dad then put the metallic garland on and the angel topper.

That was the ritual. And Dad always insisted on the lights after the tree went up. Me, I put the lights on as I go so that I can get the lights deep in to give depth to the lights.

Today

I got the tree in the living room up. Tzar is totally happy. I forget that he is a under the tree cat. The stand went down, the skirt went over that, the trunk went in and as soon as the first row of branches was in he was under and basking in happy kitty bliss.

Then went out with the girls and 2bluefish for Indian food.

Quick stop at the grocery store. Found that the company that makes my favorite boiled peanuts also makes hushpuppy batter mix! Happy Ekat.

Came home and I got the medium sized tree up in the florida room. Unfortunately the lights for that tree don't work so I'm going to need to pick up a small strand for it. I'll get that once the lady who's buying my old stove comes and I get some cash. Hopefully she comes tomorrow. She said sometime this weekend and she would call to let me know exactly what time. Since she didn't show today, I'm assuming tomorrow.

Tomorrow I will take the boxes for the trees down to the basement and start bringing up the ornament boxes.

So it's starting to look and feel a little more like christmas.
