Great Recipe Experiment 2009 #1

This recipe I've had sitting in the "gotta try" pile for a while. I finally decided to try it today.

I found this rather tasty. I especially liked the subtle depth given to the rice. Not something that I will make all the time but it will definitely go into regular rotation

This might also work rather well with chicken

Accomplishments and wishful thinking

I've gotten some things accomplished today.

I made a filling and tasty early afternoon meal and achieved the first of the GRE for the year. I've got ground turkey thawing so I can actually do GRE2009 #2 tomorrow.

I've got all the bits cut out for my 12th night garb and will soon be breaking out the machine to start sewing.

I forget how uncomfortable it is to cut out things on the dining room table. It really needs to be about 4 inches taller for comfort. in fact I wonder if it wouldn't be more comfortable to use the floor. My back and hips ache from the angle I was in while cutting. It makes me wish longingly for a tub that not only fit me fully so I could soak, but either a big enough or tankless water heater so I could have a hot soak in a tub.

Done list
All garb cut out
Hood done save for small amount of hand sewing.
GRE2009 #1 accomplished
GRE2009 #2 started so it can go into crockpot in the morning.
Had sporadic happy puppy play time.
Although constant sneezing all day, actually had a pretty decent lung/breathing day.

I'm pretty happy with the productivity of today.
