Pollyanna Project 2021: July
Aug. 1st, 2021 01:54 pmJuly 2021 Glad Game
Every year there is one month where it doesn’t feel like I didn’t do much of anything. July is that month for me in 2021. But I will attempt to breakdown things and find the good.
Work: still employed. One of the other girls gave her notice and left. Boss informed me that I will at least temporarily be taking on some of her duties. But promised an increase in salary. We shall see. I did accept an interview from a headhunter and did both a phone and in person. I didn’t get that “zing” but it is what it is. Will see what comes of it.
Whiteboard goals; I only crossed one thing off my whiteboard of goals. I embroidered 4 napkins for an interkingdom gift exchange. Those got mailed out and have started work on the project for the in -kingdom exchange.
Standing Monthly goals: this is where I fell down. I only reached water goal 4 days, only 2 days of purposeful exercise and only 3 days of physical reading. The reading was because I focused on working on my gift exchange projects.
Health: again, fell down here as well. I gained .7 lbs this month (but still down 4.5 lbs for the year), gained a total of 2.17 inches overall (but still down 4.75 for the year). So while a step back, it’s not a defeat. Just a sign it’s time to rally the troops and recommit.
I did however finish 7 books during the month. 6 of which were audiobooks that I listened to while embroidering. Total books finished YTD: 51. Puts me on track to keep to personal goal of 100 for the year.
Anti-hermit work: a dear friend from the SCA was in town and we visited, went to Niagara Falls AND went to eat in a restaurant. I also was brave and went out to a real theater to see a movie.
Continued with my photo a day challenge. One of my photos was picked as a top photo of the day on the FB group page that sponsors the challenges. I am looking forward to August’s challenge as the theme is “a gratitude a day”
Kitten: Charlie is growing big and full of energy. We got vet confirmation that Charlie is a girl. It has been fun watching her grow and learn. I can see behaviors and pinpoint which sibling he is learning I from. Play is definitely Puck learned. Nap space choosing is from Nimbus. Purring and hiding and lounging is all Lily Rose. I have not been able yet to pick up any Ozy learned traits but I’m sure that will happen. She is certainly showing signs of being highly intelligent and problem solving. We’ve also been working on snuggling and petting and accepting human touch. She still runs from me, but when I do catch her and have “enforced snuggle time” she quickly melts into the lovings and purrs up a storm. Charlie’s sibling, now named Panther, has gone to a coworker’s home and is starting to settle in (though apparently doesn’t like anyone but my coworker’s wife).
